Born in Western Pennsylvania, I was a young starry-eyed high-school football player with dreams of making it big as an athlete. After suffering a severe injury to my ankle, I found myself in search of new dreams, so at the wise age of 18, I packed all I had into my 1971 Chevy Impala and headed to California with my heart set on becoming a professional body builder.
Finding success in body building, I started to meet influential people which opened doors for me to become a personal trainer for Hollywood elites and prestigious business owners. Ultimately pursuing an acting career, I landed my first job for Universal Studios Tours at Universal Studios playing the Incredible Hulk. Eventually, acting jobs started to come through theater, commercials, television, and movies – propelling me into the successful California dreamer I set out to become.
However, with all this apparent success I truly felt empty, hollow, and miserable. To fill the emptiness in my soul, my lifestyle went down a road of destruction and selfishness. After years of riotous living, I had a life-changing evening when I almost lost my life to drugs. It was a miraculous grace-filled moment of redemption in 1983 that changed my life forever.
THE HOLY SCRIPTURES – All scripture was given by the inspiration of God, the product of holy men who spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. The new covenant as recorded in the New Testament, we accept as our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine
(2 Tim. 3:16; 1 Thess. 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21).
IN THE TRIUNE GOD – Our God is one, but manifested in three Persons- The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, being coequal.
(Deut 6:4; Phil. 2:6; John 1:1; John 1:14; John 14:16; John 15:26).
MANS FALL AND REDEMPTION – Through Adams transgression and fall sin came into the world. The Bible states “…that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God”. Jesus Christ, the Son of God was manifested to destroy the works of the devil. He lived a sinless life but was made to be sin that we can be made the righteousness of God in Christ.
(Rom 5:12; Rom.3:23; 1 John 3:8; Rom. 5:19; 2 Cor. 5:21).
THE SALVATION OF MAN – Man’s only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Salvation is a gift of God through faith in Jesus Christ and his redemptive work, resulting in eternal life.
(Rom. 3:24; Eph. 2:8,9; I John 5:12; John 3:16; Rom 10;9,10;).
WATER BAPTISM – Baptism in water is by immersion, it is a direct commandment of our Lord, and is for believers only. This symbolized Christ in his death, burial, and resurrection. We die to our old sinful nature and come up as a new creation in Christ. It is a public declaration of what has already happened to us on the inside.
(Matt. 28:19; Rom. 6:4; Coloss. 2:12; Acts 8:36-39).
BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT – It is the will of God that every Believer be filled with the Holy Spirit, He is a gift of God as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to the New Testament Church and is received subsequent to the new birth. This experience is accompanied by the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit Himself gives us the utterance.
(Matt. 3:11; John 14:16,17; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:38,39; Acts 2:1-4;).
DIVINE HEALING – Healing is for the physical ills of the human body and is worked by the power of God through the prayer of faith, and by the laying on of hands. It is provided for in the atonement of Christ and is the privilege of every born-again believer.
(James 5:14,15; Mark 16:18; Isa. 53:4,5: Matt. 8:17; 1 Peter 2:24).
